Our Accomplishments

Implemented "2010 Plan" to secure $114M in capital funding for park needs over the next decade.
Established CT State Parks Day and DEP employee appreciation award to formally recognize each year the importance of the parks and the individuals that support them.
Shared our goals for the State Parks with the Governor and First Lady, DEP, Council on Environmental Quality, CT Tourism Council, CBIA, and State Legislature.
Assisted the efforts of multiple friends groups and promoted the start-up of new groups at Gillette Castle, Hammonassett, Putnam, Peoples State Forest, and Sherwood Island.
Assisted in re-opening 8 decommissioned parks.
